Gary's new direction in life (joining the Canadian Forces, involving a relocation from Maple Creek, as you'll recall) and his resulting inability to devote the time and resources to getting himself set up to load for the .577/.450 in the foreseeable future, were factors in his rather reluctant decision to part with his recently acquired Mark I Martini-Henry rifle ( as pictured in these threads - http://britishmilitariaforums.yuku.com/topic/8079 and http://britishmilitariaforums.yuku.com/topic/8085?page=1 )

Because I was the 'devil' who originally convinced him to buy it in the first place - by making it clear that I'd be all over it if he didn't take it - he was kind enough to offer it to me before putting it on the open market - and I have now acquired it for my collection of Canadian military firearms (along with the bushed P'1853 bayonet which I was also instrumental in convincing him to acquire as the correct accoutrement for this rifle ....)
Gary, on the other hand, is the new owner of a Martini-Enfield artillery carbine and a Mark Vi Webley revolver as part of the "consideration" for the Mark I .....
