Why the extra "don't shoot it" warning? Are these in worse condition than the other untouched MH's?

I will have a possible answer to that on this coming Monday the 29th. I ordered one this week and it is being delivered UPS then. I saw these rifles at the
warehouse a few months ago and I thought they looked real rough. But, for $149 how can you go wrong! I will post some pics when it arrives.

I've seen posts on Gunboards.com from a couple of people that they seem to be in decent shape so far.

I think you will find they have always said the Gehendra was not for shooting. I bought one here in the UK a couple of years ago, from IMA's British arm
and the manager only agree to sell it to me if I agreed I would not shoot it, these were all cleaned and in good condition.

I'm not looking for a shooter just something that the wood is not rotten or badly broken and maybe in working condition that will clean up and make a
nice wall hanger.

Mine just came in, tonight! Metal is smooth, ramrod stuck, breech stuck(but it moves a bit). Wood is un rotted and mostly missed the stock beavers. A small
edge crack on the upper starbord wrist tang. It is astonishingly dirty with some kind of black dirt, 2 cans of brake cleaner just to handle with out a cloud of
dust. Best part is 3-4 patches with Ballistol down the muzzle are smooth, not much dirt after 2 patches. I can see the firing pin and rifling all the way.
I've spent more and gotten a lot less. WRT not firing, I recall some historical anecdotes from this site of barrels bursting in the day. At first look this
is well made, and not likely to have such an issue. It is a pig to hold, guessing 10#??
I think there was a field strip thread on these, but I can't find it, help, PLEASE!! Wiley |

It sounds like fun, nothing like getting that good old black, gummy, gunky, yackmoline under your fingernails and up to your elbows. The last one I cleaned up
was one of the untouched P-1853's it took me nearly a week to get my hands clean but it sure was fun. Wiley post some photo's of yours when you can.
Sounds like these are not too bad. I guess I'll have to order one.

Well, here it is. It is a lot better than I anticipated. There appears to be no wood rot and the metal still seems to have its finish. There is even a good
sling. The action is gummed up and one sling swivel and the cleaning rod are bent but those are minor (I hope). The wood is in good shape. There was
packaging P-Nuts in the bore so I did not look at it yet. I was really pumped when it came. I left the pics large so you can get a better view:

Very nice looking rifle searcher, I am sitting here waiting on mine that I ordered to be shipped, looking at everybody's rifles they are getting. They sure
look like a interesting project. Are the internals hard to get out for cleaning and back in? Also the stock looks like it has tang screws instead of the long
bolt in the butt stock is this correct ?

Norm I know what you mean I can hardly wait till Friday there is nothing like opening one of those long boxes the big brown truck leaves. Something that I find
interesting is if you have ever watched Treasure Is WhereYou Find It and I am sure most of us have by now. What surprises me is the fact that most of these
guns got here in as good of condition as they are in because in the DVD some of the packers handling the guns weren't handling them to carefully in fact
you see some drop several guns at a time on the stack.

Just a heads up. IMA commented on Gunboards that these are selling fast and they have ordered another container load to be shipped from England. Price will go
up $30.00US as a result. No, I don't work for IMA...just passing the word along.

I've had a Gahendra for 25 years, purchased at Interarms for $89.00 The bore is quite a bit tighter than the MH, and mine slugs .459. Anyone shooting
standard MH ammo, especially later stuff with 472 bullets is in for a surprise.
