The latest Martini Cadets to join my
collection are three orphans that were passed over by several collectors as not so interesting and not worth the bother. Two of the cadets are chambered for
the 297 / 230 Morris long cartridge and the third is in .310 Greener.
The Cadet at the bottom is a BSA Model 4a First Pattern Martini Cadet chambered in .310 caliber. NSW for New South Wales markings are evident on the RHS of the
butt stock and the receiver, as well as ACCC for Australian Commonwealth Cadet Corp and 4/09 for April 1909 as the issue date on the butt. There are no missing
parts and the action functions perfectly. The bore is in very good condition and bright with no sign of rust or pitting. The only blemish is the missing chip
of wood at the wrist on the RHS. Included with this cadet is the front sight protector. The picture showing the muzzles shows this cadet rifle positioned on
the extreme right.
