I've just picked up a Pattern 1913 (p1907 US copy) Remington bayonet dated 1/16 with British proof marks in very good condition. Scabbard is Australian made with "OA" stamped on locket & chape,"MANGROVITE '43" & "broad arrow" over "B" on scabbard leather. Two Questions....I assume the bayonet fits an Enfield but which one. It doesn't fit the SMLE. The scabbard is a late model with large round frog stud,I assume 1943 manufacture. What could the "B" under the broad arrow signify? I would normally assume Birmingham but not on an Australian made scabbard. Any help would be appreciated to clear up my puzzle, thanks, Smokey.
