Thought I'd post this photo here as well is in the Martini forum. This picture has been in family for years, it shows a group of young men in a
para-military(?) group, which I believe was called the Territorials. I assume it would be something akin to a Cadet Corps. or ROTC. This photo was taken in
Lincolnshire, England just prior to, or in the early years of, WW1. Both of my grandfathers are in the photo: middle row, 3rd from right, is Tom Reeves (b.
1901) my maternal grandad, & front row 2nd from left, is Alf Robinson (b.1899) by dad's dad. Alf went on to serve in WW1 & was wounded in France.
Tom joined the military (Royal Engineers) in the 1920s & served thru WW2 reaching the rank of RSM. He was stationed in Malta at the outbreak (1939) &
was there thru the siege serving on bomb disposal.....pretty busy job! He finished off the war in North Africa before returning home in 1945/6. I was
competing in a World Championship shooting competition in Indiana a few years back & I got into conversation with one of the 2-man Maltese team, upon
learning of my grandad's service in Malta during the war he had nothing but lavish praise for him & the others who helped save Malta from the Axis.
