The gun is broken or incomplete, an oddly shaped boat anchor or tomato stake at that point.
With the part(s) it becomes......our magic. At that time the cost fades into insignificance and is soon forgotten. What price joy? |

Anyone with a drill can make a firing pin lock nut for about $4. The firing pin can be made by a decent machinist, but the last time I got one, I paid $25 for
it. Add $2 postage, and there you are.
Cheers, Michael Applying WalMart expectation to antique gun dealers and gunsmiths is like pouring nitro powder down a black powder rifle, and often with similar results. |

Hey guys, lets cut this off. This is IMA's Vendor post making you aware of what he has to sell, not a discussion post o how you don't like his price or
how to beat him out of a buck. Take it elsewhere..
I don't have moderators controls here or I would cut this off and move it at post 7. I myself appreciate what IMA has done for use by getting the cache out of Nepal and to use. Show a bit of courtesy and respect! |

Would just like to say how I appreciate IMA actually coming on forum to make us aware of what is available.
I can't think of any other large company bothering to do this. To me, this involvement is new, novel, and greatly appreciated!! Thank you! |

Douglas,
I was actually defending their pricing. It's in line with the market and other vendors who are selling Snider parts. And yes, you can make a firing pin if you have a lathe and the dimensions or a sample to work from, but for most of us, paying the $25 is cheaper than equipping a machine shop. I do appreciate IMA making parts available. This is something we've been looking forward to since they announced the Nepal cache. And now it's here! -Michael Applying WalMart expectation to antique gun dealers and gunsmiths is like pouring nitro powder down a black powder rifle, and often with similar results. |
