As Grant mentioned I've been accepted By the Canadian Armed Forces as an Electrical Distribution Technician. So my life since march has been thrown in a tumbler. Although the military seem to be great at not giving you enough information to make plans and organize, they give you enough to know life as you knew it no longer exists. Any plans previous now seem to be from another life. Basic training for me starts July 27th meaning a labour day shoot is no longer in the cards, and any earlier really isn't enough time to promote it for anyone to make plans to attend. The June 21 reunion is now being turned into a send-off of sorts, so ducking out isn't an option this year. Although the Montana shoot hasn't been ruled out, I have what seems to be at least six months of preparations to be done in six weeks, so it too will have to be on a wait and see basis. The hard part is packing and selling the house, all the while I have no idea where I'll be posted once basic is complete. Telling the family "Look I'll be gone away for three months and hopefully before I go in six weeks I'll be able to tell you where home will be after that. If you could please pack the rest of our belongings and sell the house, I'll give you a call dear..." Man, I don't give my poor wife near enough credit. Anyway sorry about the Saskatchewan shoot. I hope to see you folks in Montana, but it it doesn't work out I hope everyone understands.

After coming back from Douglas' shoot I wish more than ever that it were a possibility, and it may still transpire in the future. I guess we'll have to see what happens with the CF, and go from there. My wife is big into quilting and regardless of where we get posted, she intends to return for the few local quilting marathons retreats. May be a good opportunity to plan the Battle Creek shoot to coincide with one next year.
