Can someone can tell me something about this rifle. I have had it a number of years and not shot it. It looks to good to shoot. The butt plate is cast metal not brass. It the trigger guard and lock plate are case hardened. The barrel and bands are all in the blue. The third picture oin first row has 5 punch marks, what does these mean. The lock plate and butt plate both have 2 cut marks in them. The only markings on the stock are the W.R. on the left side of the stock and the crown at the base on the trigger guard. The lock plate had been buffed hard and the date appears to be 1858. The bore is very bright with great rifings but the picture is not very good. And help in idenifing this rifle and were it may hsve come from would be very appericated.
Thanks
rotchie
I hope this is better and does not take much space.
