Ah! Posting my half finished thoughts! I don't do FB, but my wife has an account. Also, sometimes things get posted to multiple locations, so I was wondering if Norm's tutorial existed someplace besides FB.
To me, FB is a chaotic mish-mash of random feeds, that continually pile up, so you can never find anything. Since I have no idea who Norm is, other then finding a couple of his posts on forums, I hopped on FB and did a search on "Gahendra Rifle". That mostly yielded links to Youtube videos. I did find a guy named Norm Sutton, but his posts where mostly about conservative politics, with no mention of Gahendras except that he owned 6.
All that being said, if someone can link to it, that would be great.
Getting back to the actual broken firing pin on my rifle. I have noticed several pictures of unbroken Gahendra hammers posted on-line, show a distinct curve in the firing pin. The broken tip of my firing pin was still inside the action. So, in an attempt to get some measurements, I used super glue to carefully glue the tip back on, making sure to line up the broken edges. It does not appear to have anywhere near the amount of curvature the pics of the other hammers have. I will try to post a picture of it tonight.
Also, if I use the drill bit method of repair, just how do I heat the drill bit to bend it, without taking the temper out of it?
