Well as I told you in the Martini Henry forum my wife bought me two MH from IMA. One is an unmarked MKII and the other is a Gehendra smooth bore. The MKII arrived today and I immediately disassembled it and began cleaning. Here is what I have so far. The butt stock has a repairable crack and some rot around one of the pins. No real issues there. The forestock needs a wee bit more work as you can see in the pictures. The wood seems more damaged than rotted. The pieces that fell off were still solid so I am thinking that they used this gun as a pry bar. The cleaning rod rusted in half but I will fix this by welding the two halves together. But the best this is the condition of the bore. It looks really nice. There is some pitting where the barrel band sits just forward of the rear sight and some further down. I don't think I really have anything to worry about with the pitting because of the location. So I have my work cut out for me and I am confident this will be a shooter.
