Well the turmoil that has been my life for the past 7
or 8 years is starting subside. It has been a wild ride. There is
happiness in my life again.
I have been debating whether I wanted to continue the Victorian Riflemen Shooting Medal program at all. It is time consuming to maintain.
There have been issues with administering the program. The foremost being a misunderstanding of why the Medal is issued at all.
Let me restate this. The purpose of the Medal is promoted the shooting of these rifles in the manner in which they were shoot during the reign of Queen Victoria-that is they are shoot in the spirit of the original.
Not everyone wants to a be a competitive shooter. Some people just like to shoot. This is not a competitive shooting medal. This is not an award for beating everyone. This Medal just says you took your old rifle out and shot it. I suggest two people at least, only because it is more fun go out shooting with someone else. Bit safer than shooting alone.
I am not going to stop the sending out of medals to shooting match organizers. You will have to convince me beyond any doubt that you match is to Promote Victorian rifleman shooting and not some MILSURP match that allows Martini’s. That Is not keeping with the spirit of the original or the intent of the program. Match organizers will have to Pay for the medals up front and submit a shooting list after the match, with unused medals. Unused medal will then be refunded and the Shooting names will be added to the Rolls. No list no refund, no names added to the rolls.
If you have any questions, first ask yourself is this how the original was intended to be shot. If you still have any questions about the Rules of this program, contact me. [email protected] I am the sole arbitrator of this program. Only I can make the final decision about any interpretation. I can be persuaded. Anyone else’s interpretation is not binding.
How about any questions now?
