			<description><![CDATA[ I have an 1898 Krag that I purchased recently. When I stripped it apart to clean the piece I noticed that the stock was cracked below the receiver! As you can
see from the pics there is a hairline crack that runs from the base of the trigger guard up to the cutout for the receiver. I can wiggle the stock and there is
definite separation.

			<description><![CDATA[ I&#39;ve been working on cleaning up my Snider Cadet Carbine. The metal is pretty pitted but I&#39;ve got the rust off. Now I have 2 more hurdles:

1) There is a split in the front of the stock. Is there anything I can do? If so what&#39;s the best method?

			<description><![CDATA[ I turned up at our &quot;Blackpowder night&quot; last Friday to shoot only to find that it was the Christmas blackpowder fun shoot. Only difference was that
there were smaller targets at 50 &amp; 25 yards.

			<description><![CDATA[ I picked up a Cadet Carbine this week that needs some TLC.

I have a couple questions:

1) I can&#39;t get the front band off. The screw is pretty buggered but I&quot;m not sure that is the only problem. I&#39;ve got Kroil soaking into it. However
the back end of the screw may have been enlarged to keep it from coming off. I can&#39;t tell for sure but it&#39;s pretty wide. A metal pin has been inserted
into the stock to keep the band in place as well. It does not poke... ]]></description>

			<description><![CDATA[ Thanks to a lot of help and encouragement from Carignan Salieries My Nepal Snider roared today.

My Daughter was kind enough to come and stay with my wife while I went to the desert to a place I know and shoot it.

I must admit I short loaded it for the first 3 shots. 50 grains of FFG goex and COW to the proper powder level.
<br>
2 card wads , a1/4 inch lube cookie and a .600 round ball seated 1/2 its diameter.

			<description><![CDATA[ I have finally found a nice Spanish snider rifle (not short rifle).  I am currently trying to disassemble the hinge and block to understand the extractor
mechanism.  The extractor is mechanically moved back and forth by a sliding block with itself moves in some sort of helical camming slot in the hinge pin
(which rotates with the block), it is ingenious stuff but shrouded by a sleeve so I can&#39;t see exactly what is going on.  So far the hinge pin will not come
